Last week I was invited to speak to a group of second-year students at the Birmingham Metropolitan College Enterprise Academy about my journey in setting up my own company and the challenges I have faced (and am still facing!) along the way.
Each Enterprise Academy student takes part in:
- Guru lectures and workshops
- Business visits and networking events
- A mentor programme with professionals
- Internships with local employers
All of which are hugely important when assessing whether or not to go down the self-employment route.
The students were wonderful; listening carefully, adding their input and asking great questions. It’s clear that they’re going the right way to being the bright, young employers of the future!
