All work and no play would make for a very dull team, which is why we always make time for team events at least a few times a year. This could be anything from an ‘escape the room’ challenge to dinner and drinks at a nice restaurant. This time around we chose Ghetto Golf in Digbeth.
For those of you who haven’t yet had the opportunity to play or have no idea what Ghetto Golf is, then allow us to explain. Ghetto Golf is an adult only, indoor, 18-hole mini golf course, which combines golfing and cocktails along with your favourite R’n’B music – what more could you want?!
As a team, we’ve expanded a lot over the past year, or so, which meant we were a little too big to golf together. So instead, we split up into 3 mini teams, with each group having a good mix of account managers, team leaders, graphic designers and management which gave everyone the chance to chat and mingle with people they might not always get to see!
The golf itself was really fun, especially seeing as it’s not your typical mini golf course, with a few R-rated themed rounds – but we won’t spoil it anymore!
And while we all had a blast, the people who enjoyed themselves the most were Carol, David and Bradley – the winners of each mini-team.
In addition to the golf, the cocktails – both virgin and alcoholic – were some of the best we’ve ever had and that’s saying something! Not to mention those delicious burgers and fries we chowed down on afterwards.
Having a few hours out of the office every now and again is really beneficial. Not only does it give us the chance to bond as a team, but it also gives us chance to de-stress and have some fun. We can’t wait for the next one! You can read more about life at JC Social Media here.
